About Kayla & The Family Food Project

I'm Kayla, mother of two and head kitchen mess-maker.

I cook real-food meals for my family every day because I truly believe in the healing power of food.

I have two daughters who are a driving force for my passion as a cook and nurturer, but my journey to becoming interested in food started long before I was a parent.

When I was 21 years old, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and was forced to take inventory on the way I was treating my body.  I learned how food could impact my mind and body, and later pursued a graduate degree in mental health.

I have always had an interest in the mind-body connection and saw how managing both my diet and lifestyle could not only put my digestive disease into remission, but has kept me there ever since.

My career as a psychotherapist led me to work with children and families in a residential setting, which allowed me to take a whole-body approach to healing. It is my hope that I can continue to empower individuals and families to use real-food cooking and lifestyle changes to positively impact their health.

I’m so happy to have you here!

xx,

Kayla
